The low end was mostly about getting the fit in my ear right, and the tinny/harsh upper end ��mellowed�� as the manual suggested it would. I��m not sure what��s at work with that, but it was a noticeable improvement over time. Now I find them to be quite good for both ��talking�� sources, and music. My hearing isn��t the best (too much rock in the old days) but to me, they��re as good as other medium-priced earphones.
Where��s the mic?

These are not headsets, so they lack a mic, and the attendant bubble to answer/hangup/control music on an iPhone/iOS/other smart phone device. While that��s completely understandable, it sure would be handy.

I tend to chew through earphones, so I��m very accustomed to the low end products. I also own one high end set that I treat with kid gloves. The NAEB500 earphones fall into a sweet spot between those two extremes. Say what you like about Sony's sound products, you can't deny that they've had some pretty firsts in the headphones arena, like creating the world's first in-ear headphones (in 1982, mind you), the world's first 5.1 digital surround headphones and the first ever digital noise-cancelling headphones. And this month beats by dr dre, their latest line of in-ear headphones - the XBA series, featuring 11 models - have finally come to our shore. There are four "regular" models for your music players, four smartphone versions beats headphones, a Bluetooth version, a noise-cancelling version and a "sporty" model. Using balanced armatures instead of their familiar dynamic drivers, the folks at Sony said that this would be the start of a new direction that the company would be taking.

When we visited their showroom in Tokyo some months ago - where we got a chance to try out all the models - two models stood out for me. The first was the XBA-3. Powered by three balanced armatures (one tweeter Dr Dre Beats, one "full range", and one woofer), the XBA-3 really did live up to the brochure's claim that it would provide a "rich expression through all frequencies". Every little nuance across the frequencies was richly detailed Dre Beats, which was really great for someone who, like me, likes to pick apart the different musical components of a song. (The XBA-4 contains an added "super woofer" armature Beats By Dre, although I felt that was a little unneccesary, because really, do we need that in headphones?)

Unfortunately, the XBA-3 was the first one I tried, which meant that when I heard the base model, the XBA-1, which features only one balanced armature, for "full range", it made the music sound a little thin.

Another model that caught my eye was the sporty XBA-S65, meant for those who like to listen to their music while they workout. It has a few things going for it. One, it has an adjustable strap that ensures the in-ear headphones stay in the ear, no matter what type of ear shape you have, and no matter what activity you engage in. I jumped, jogged on the spot, shook my head and those babies were snug as a bug. I've always had problems with in-ear headphones because my ears are of different shapes, so that's a boon. Also, it's doesn't have those annoying, stiff clips that always dig into the back of your ear, which means you can actually wear this for long periods of time.

Another cool factor: It's washable and waterproof (we tested it by dropping it into a bowl of water) so even if you're sweating buckets, you won't have to worry about moisture affecting the internal electronics.

The downside is that the setup is the same as the XBA-1, but I did ask Sony if they were going to release a version that blended the functionality of the XBA-S65 with the internal make-up of the XBA-3. Sony's reply: "We can't tell you for sure, but we also appreciate all feedback."

Ah, well, we all can dream, right?

Nike Football’s new Brazil uniform for 2012-2013 celebrates Jeitinho Brasileiro(“The Brazilian Way”) — the spirit that encompasses the resilience, creativity and relentlessly positive and innovative approach that has helped make the Brazil National Team the most successful in the history of football.

Known as Amarelinha (“Little Yellow One”), the Brazilian home soccer jerseys has become a revered national symbol that represents both the hopes of the Brazilian people and their vibrant and diverse culture.

Blending Nike’s commitment to both performance and environmental awareness, fabric used on the shorts is made with 100% recycled polyester, while the jerseys are made with at least 96%. An average of 13 recycled plastic bottles are used to make each kit.

Marking a return to tradition, the new kit features a classic, authentic design that dives into the renown football history of the country. The shirt is treated to a clean yellow body and V-neck collar with green trim. Deep green cuffs on the shirt can be turned over to reveal the rallying cry of Nascido Para Jogar Futebol (“Born to Play Football”) written in the style of Pichacao, a distinctive form of urban graffiti.

Along the inside of the back of the neck, graphic work by Brazilian artist Don Torelly depicts an outline of the Brazilian federation’s crest containing the Southern Cross, a constellation of stars that was seen over Rio de Janeiro when the Brazilian republic was founded in 1889. Bold green numbers on the shirts is inspired by the numbers on Brazil’s national bank notes.

Home shorts are a traditional blue color with thick white striping along the sides. The home socks, which now feature improved cushioning for greater comfort, movement and protection, are done in white with a green band wrapping the top. A banded diamond design wraps around the center, symbolic of the tattoos of indigenous warriors.

Described as Nike Football’s lightest kits ever, the new Brazilian digs are up to 23% lighter than previous versions. Nike Dri-FIT technology is incorporated throughout the  kits, which helps regulate players’ temperatures on pitch by removing sweat from the body to keep them dry and cool. Laser-cut ventilation on the shirts delivers localized cooling where athletes need it most.

The UEFA Referees Committee met today in Nyon and appointed the 12 referees to handle the 31 matches of next year’s UEFA EURO 2012 final tournament in Poland and Ukraine.

Production journalist Neil Wolfson came up with the design, which uses triangles to represent the attacking team and squares for the defending team.

As if to underscore the confusing nature of the law, some referees criticized Wolfson's design – which was selected over nearly 30,000 entries – as inaccurate as it doesn't point out the 1995 revision that it is "not an offense in itself to be in an offside position." Wolfson responded by noting that there is no mention of any offense on the coin.
"Neil Wolfson designed his coin in the hope that it would encapsulate football in a simple image," according to the Royal Mint website. "As the offside rule is a perennial talking point, the image is designed to provoke discussion, which was what he was aiming for."

One of the best defenders in the world and another key to Barca’s success. Pique is able to play out from the back which gives his side such drive. His aerial prowess is a big feature too.

3. Cristiano Ronaldo (Real Madrid)
The Portuguese had an unbelievable season individually at Real Madrid, winning the Pichichi award but his side fell short in the title race. Ronaldo did net the winner in extra-time in the Copa del Rey and was truly sensational and unstoppable at times.

2. Xavi (Barcelona)
Another stellar year for the Spanish midfielder who was integral to his side’s successes this term. Xavi is the unsung hero for Barcelona but his quality is obvious when you see him first hand with his passing range and vision second to none.

The Argentine did it all again with Barcelona, helping them lift the Uefa Champions League with a crucial goal in the final against Manchester United.
