Allen says decertification call was 'purely informative'

NEW YORK - While NBA owners and the players union spent a lot of Saturday-and into Sunday-meeting inside a hotel here with federal mediator George Cohen, much of the recent target the five-month-old lockout has been on some of the sideshows that have emerged. Among them would be a pair of conference calls held this week about possible decertification of the union with an antitrust lawyer, which dozens of NBA players joined.
But Celtics guard Ray Allen, Air Jordan 2011 who had been around the call Tuesday although not on Thursday, told the Boston Globe the calls were not meant like a threat to the union's leadership, executive director Billy Hunter and president Derek Fisher.
"We have complete faith within our union to find the job done," Allen told the world. "I have no idea what was said (Thursday) on the call but I do know from the guys which were around the call (a week ago), nobody was anxious to pull the trigger like we've got to decertify now. Most of the guys that asked question was like, 'What exactly would we be doing as we decertified? Who would dominate? The way it would dominate?' That's all we talked about. I do not think anybody was panicking."
This week, the NBA argued before a federal judge that the decertification option should be removed, Soccer Cleats since it had been used as, "a loaded gun," in negotiations. The union rejected claiming, and the judge has yet to make a decision.
But Allen indicated that decertification is not an immediate option.
"The guys which were on the phone call, it was purely informative, Real Madrid Jersey " Allen said. "And we talked among ourselves about where i was and what guys thought about the situation that we're in. We discussed decertification because where we stood at that moment we couldn't know once the next meeting was. Which was one option was decertification. I don't think anybody on the call assumed that is what we were likely to do. We talked about if that was something we were thinking about doing."
